Thanksgiving is almost here, and many people are already starting the whirlwind preparation of their annual feast. But if you’re traveling, not feeling like cooking up a big feast or have something go wrong with your home preparations, you might want to keep this list handy.
Turkey disasters can send anyone into a panic—remember Clark Griswold’s turkey jerky in “Christmas Vacation” or the Bumpus hounds stealing Ralphie’s family turkey in “A Christmas Story”? We sure do. This Thanksgiving, whether you need some emergency mashed potatoes or your family just wants to celebrate without all the cooking and cleanup, visit one of these restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day.
Although they’re all national chains, you should still call your local establishment to check their hours, availability and pricing just to be safe.
Restaurants That Are Open on Thanksgiving Day
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill
Select Applebee’s restaurants will host a Thanksgiving Day meal this year. In years past, it has featured turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and garlicky green beans (in addition to Applebee’s regular menu items). Check your local restaurant’s hours to be sure!
Bob Evans
You can dine at their restaurant on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or choose delivery or pickup meals. Their Thanksgiving Hot Meal serves up to six people. It includes slow-roasted turkey, hickory-smoked ham, bread and celery dressing, corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, rolls, green beans with ham, cranberry relish, 12 dinner rolls, and a whole pumpkin pie. Open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving day.
You can also get a taste of their other Thanksgiving food any day with their signature slow-roasted turkey dinners.
Boston Market
Enjoy a traditional plated Thanksgiving meal at Boston Market. Thanksgiving food specials are rotisserie chicken, roasted turkey or ham and plenty of side dishes and desserts to choose from. Catering, dine-in – with modified hours on Thanksgiving Day (check your local location) or individual meals for carry-out are all available now through December 31.
Open on Thanksgiving Day, Bravo! Italian Kitchen is serving up a 3-course Traditional Thanksgiving Meal in both adult and kids sizes. The course includes your choice of Caesar or Chopped Salad, sliced white turkey meat, cranberry sauce, homestyle gravy, mashed potatoes, Italian sausage stuffing, a seasonal vegetable and, of course, pumpkin pie. The normal menu will also be available if you can’t resist your favorite Italian dish. It’s encouraged that you make a reservation to dine in on Thanksgiving Day. Pick-up is also available if you prefer to eat at home.
Brio is open on Thanksgiving Day and serving up a three-course Traditional Thanksgiving meal complete with salad, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, opt for Italian favorites like Pasta Brio, Lobster & Shrimp Fettuccine, or Gorgonzola Beef Medallions. Kids under 12 have a Thanksgiving meal option, too. Reserve your table for lunch or dinner today. Pre-order a Thanksgiving Feast To Go for pick up that serves three to six.
Buca di Beppo
Buca di Beppo will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Guests can dine in, purchase catering trays, order a meal to go or even have the meal delivered (check locally for availability). The traditional Thanksgiving Feast includes roasted turkey and all the traditional sides, homestyle gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
If you order delivery or pick up, the small serves three people ($105) and the large serves six ($160). Cold (ready to heat and eat) pick up or delivery is available November 20 to November 23, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you want hot (ready to serve) delivery or pick up, it’s available November 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If you want catering, they offer either cold or hot, with a half pan that feeds ten for $250 or a full pan that feeds 20 for $450.
The Capital Grille
Their Thanksgiving menu includes slow-roasted turkey with brioche stuffing, French green beans and cranberry-pear chutney with Sam’s mashed potatoes or pecan-crusted mashed sweet potatoes with hot honey to share. The price is $50 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and under. Pumpkin cheesecake is an additional $12 per person.
Chart House
You can visit Chart House for great Thanksgiving food! Whether you dine in on Thanksgiving Day or bring Chart House home to your dinner table, they have everything you need to make it a meal to remember. You can enjoy a three-course prix fixe menu of your Chart House favorites or a classic Thanksgiving dinner. You can also pre-order a Roasted Turkey dinner ($105) or Prime Rib dinner ($130) for pick-up or delivery on Thanksgiving Day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Cracker Barrel
Cracker Barrel is open regular business hours this Thanksgiving Day and will begin serving a Traditional Thanksgiving Meal at 11 a.m. A limited alternative menu will be available. The restaurant recommends you join the waitlist online to ensure a minimum wait time to dine in. While delivery will not be available on Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving meals-to-go and a Heat n’ Serve Family dinner and feast are available for pre-order.
Del Frisco’s Grille will be open on Thanksgiving Day and is offering a Thanksgiving Plate that consists of herb and butter roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, apple sausage stuffing and cranberry sauce. There is also a three-course prix fixe menu, which adds a soup or salad and pie to the Plate. The restaurant’s regular dinner menu will also be available on Thanksgiving Day. Book your reservation ahead of time!
Grab a dozen to share as you prepare for the big meal. Dunkin’ will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but customers should check with their local store or the app to check times.
Eddie V’s
Eddie V’s is serving an exquisite turkey dinner with French green beans, brioche sage stuffing, gravy, cranberry chutney and mashed potatoes with bread and pie. The regular menu will also be available. Hours on Thanksgiving Day will be 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. Make sure to make your reservation beforehand!
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will open at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and it will be serving up meals from the full menu and a special three-course special ($56). The menu includes a choice of Herb-Roasted Turkey, Filet Mignon or Prime Bone-In Ribeye accompanied by a starter, traditional holiday trimmings and a dessert. Fogo de Chão
This Internationally-renowned steakhouse is delivering joy this Thanksgiving with delicious offerings available at restaurants nationwide. Guests will discover both new and traditional holiday staples on Thanksgiving Day at select locations.
Golden Corral
In addition to guest favorites like steak, meatloaf and pot roast, Golden Corral will also offer a special Thanksgiving buffet. This feast includes a roasted turkey, holiday glazed ham and a holiday roast beef. An array of traditional sides and dessert is also available. Golden Corral restaurants are open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (some later) or this entire Thanksgiving meal is available to go, but be sure to pre-order online or through their app.
Hooters
The majority of Hooters locations stay open for most holidays, including Thanksgiving. Hours are 4 p.m. to close, but check with your local restaurant as some hours may vary.
IHOP
Most IHOP restaurants are open on Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy a sweet breakfast all day or several Thanksgiving food specials like the Roasted Turkey Melt sandwich or the roasted turkey and gravy over cornbread stuffing meal with two sides.
Kona Grill
Kona Grill is offering the ultimate Thanksgiving feast on Thanksgiving Day. Guests can eat, drink and give thanks with a special feast featuring Kona Grill’s Macadamia Nut Turkey, Traditional Roasted Turkey, seasonal cocktails and Pumpkin features. The full Kona Grill Menu, Kid’s Thanksgiving Specials and Thanksgiving Dinner Takeout and Delivery are also available.
Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme locations will be open until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Luby’s
For $13.99, dine on Luby’s Thanksgiving special, which includes an entrée, cornbread dressing, two sides, a dinner roll and dessert. Yummy!
Macaroni Grill
They are giving everyone something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving with an array of options for every type of celebration. All Macaroni Grill locations will be open on Thursday, Nov. 23, and serving up a traditional Thanksgiving Three Course menu – including soup or salad, Roasted Turkey Breast, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sausage & Apple Stuffing, Brussels sprouts or broccolini and dessert – for $34 per person. A kid’s Thanksgiving meal will also be available for $17.
Maggiano’s Little Italy
This Italian restaurant will be open! Guests can dine in with Maggiano’s family-style Thanksgiving meal or carry out a hot or cold prepared carryout bundle that feeds four to five people. Carryout bundles are either $210 (cold) or $220 (hot) and are available to order. Orders must be placed by 8 p.m. the night prior to pick up, and pick up is available Nov. 21 through Nov. 23. Call your local restaurant or order online.
McCormick & Schmick’s
Wine and dine at McCormick & Schmick’s this Thanksgiving. The restaurant is offering Thanksgiving food specials such as a traditional Thanksgiving meal consisting of your choice of soup or salad, with roasted turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, butternut squash casserole and roasted brussel sprouts. Reservations are highly recommended. Adults eat for $48 and kids for $20. The regular menu will also be available.
McDonald’s
The golden arches join the list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving and cranking out burgers and fries as normal. Swing by for a pre-turkey snack. Check your local store for exact hours.
Metro Diner
Table service will be available for dine-in until 2:30 p.m. at Metro Diner on Thanksgiving day. Guests can choose from several seasonal options. A Heat and Serve Holiday Feast To-Go is also available for pre-order.
Morton’s Steakhouse
Morton’s Steakhouse will be open for Thanksgiving, so you can expect a mouthwatering holiday meal at this tried-and-true steakhouse. For $59 per person, their holiday meal includes a salad, roasted turkey, sage and cranberry stuffing, sour cream mashed potatoes, corn souffle, and green beans almondine, topped off with pumpkin cheesecake. Their full menu will also be available as well as wine pairings.
Popeye’s
This year, select Popeye’s locations will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Call your local restaurant for details.
Will be open and Shell-abrating with you! The restaurant even has three new entrees, including a Lobster & Shrimp Holiday Feast consisting of – you guessed it lobster, shrimp, mashed potatoes, Cheddar Bay Stuffing and one side.
Ruby Tuesday
Select Red Robin restaurants will be open with modified hours on Thanksgiving Day. Be sure to call ahead and confirm hours before planning your holiday.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Ruth’s Chris Steak House says the best meals are the ones you don’t worry about. Take the stress out of Thanksgiving dinner and enjoy their In-Restaurant Thanksgiving Day Menu, which includes a starter (choice of Caesar salad, steak house salad or Louisiana Seafood Gumbo), entrée (sliced oven-roasted turkey, homemade gravy, cornbread-herd stuffing and cranberry relish), side (choice of garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with roasted garlic, creamed spinach or sweet potato casserole) and dessert (pumpkin cheesecake and vanilla ice cream). Each purchase also includes leftovers to take home. The cost is $48 per adult and $17 per child. You can also pre-order a meal (plus all the sides) to-go for pick up on Nov. 23.
Starbucks
Many locations will be open, but expect some to close early. Some Starbucks located in business districts or inside office buildings may be closed. Starbucks locations that are inside Target stores will also be closed, as Target is closed on Thanksgiving.
STK Steakhouse
STK Steakhouse will be open on Thanksgiving Day and featuring a turkey meal with all the trimmings, seasonal cocktails and pumpkin specials. Takeout and catering are also available for Thanksgiving.
Sullivan’s Steakhouse
This Thanksgiving, all locations nationwide will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with special holiday offerings. Guests can savor and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner including a starter, roasted turkey, sweet onion apple sausage stuffing, gravy, cranberry relish, two traditional sides and a dessert. Adults eat for $49 and children $24.
T.G.I Fridays
They will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but check ahead with your local restaurant.
Waffle House
Open 365 days a year, that means Thanksgiving Day too. They will be serving up their classic breakfast on Thanksgiving Day, as it always does.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s will be open for regular hours on Thanksgiving Day. Perfect to snag a snack before the big meal or to grab a Frosty before starting your Black Friday shopping.
Whataburger
The burger chain will be open on Thanksgiving, but some locations may be drive-thru only.
White Castle
Open! White Castle will be open and operating through 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Some may vary, so double-check with your local restaurant to be sure.
